Telecom Italia to expand datacenter network with new
facility near Rome

MILAN, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Telecom Italia (TIM)
(TLIT.MI), opens new tab
said on Thursday it will develop a new data centre
near Rome as the former phone monopoly is looking to
expand its cloud business to meet growing demand,
driven partly from artificial intelligence.
TIM plans to invest 130 million euros to upgrade its
existing cloud infrastructure and build the new
facility, which will grow the company's current
sixteen-strong datacenter network across Italy.

TIM's cloud business is part of the company's
fast-growing TIM Enterprise arm, which provides
services to public administration and big corporate
clients.
The division, which also offers connectivity and
cybersecurity services, generated around 2.3 billion
euros of revenue in the first nine months, 5.8% up
from the year before.
With the new datacenter, which will operational by the
end of 2026, the group's capacity will grow by 25
MegaWatts to 125 MW, TIM said.
